No. myQ has no official Amazon alexa integration for voice control. Chamberlain’s list of supported myQ partners leaves Alexa out, and Chamberlain says it blocks unapproved third-party integrations. The Amazon services myQ does link to are Amazon Key In-Garage Delivery and the Ring app. Key is a package delivery service, and the Ring link adds a tile that opens the myQ app.
What Chamberlain officially supports
Chamberlain Group’s support article “myQ Integrations Supported Partners and Platforms” covers myQ on Chamberlain and LiftMaster openers and sorts platforms into supported and unsupported. Alexa is in neither list. The article does not mention it.
| Platform | Status in Chamberlain’s support article |
|---|---|
| Amazon Alexa | Not mentioned, as supported or unsupported |
| Amazon Key | Supported, under Delivery Services |
| Ring | Supported, under Smart Home & Automation |
| IFTTT | Supported, under Smart Home & Automation |
| Google Home | Unsupported |
| Apple HomeKit, Siri voice commands and shortcuts | Unsupported |
| Samsung SmartThings, Hubitat, Wink | Unsupported |
| Matter, Thread, Amazon Sidewalk | Unsupported |
The same article carries a security notice: Chamberlain blocks unauthorized or unapproved third-party integrations so that only trusted platforms can control garage access. The “Works with myQ” page on myq.com also has no Alexa entry.
What Amazon Key In-Garage Delivery is, and what it is not
Amazon Key lets a delivery driver place Amazon packages, Amazon Fresh groceries and Whole Foods Market groceries inside your garage. Amazon’s help page describes the process: the driver scans your package, Amazon checks the package and the driver’s location, and then your linked garage door opens. Chamberlain says access codes and keys are not shared with the driver and that access is one-time.

It is not voice control. Chamberlain’s Amazon Key articles and Amazon’s In-Garage Delivery help page do not mention Alexa.
What you need
- An Amazon Prime membership.
- A myQ connected garage door opener, or a myQ Smart Garage Hub or Smart Garage Control added to your opener.
- The latest version of the myQ app and the Amazon Shopping app.
- To be the primary myQ account holder or an invited co-owner.
- An address in a served area. Chamberlain says the service covers several cities and their surrounding areas in the United States and Canada.
How to turn it on
- Open the myQ app.
- Tap Menu in the bottom right.
- Tap Amazon Key.
- Follow the in-app instructions to link your myQ account to Amazon.
- Finish setup in the Amazon app when you are redirected there.
After linking, you manage delivery settings in the Amazon app under Account, then Amazon Key Settings. Amazon’s help page lists the current delivery fee and the free Amazon Day option.
What linking myQ to the Ring app does
Ring’s support page for the LiftMaster myQ Smart Garage Control says linking adds a tile to your Ring app dashboard that links to the myQ app, where you monitor and manage the door. You set it up in the Ring app under Devices, Set up a Device, Set up a non-Ring device or choose manually, and it links your Amazon account to Ring and to myQ. The page does not mention Alexa or voice commands.
Unofficial routes people use
None of the routes below is a Chamberlain-approved Alexa integration. Each is documented by its own maker, not by Chamberlain.
IFTTT with Voice Monkey (close only)
IFTTT is an official myQ partner, but the Alexa half of this route is third-party. IFTTT’s help page for myQ lists three actions: turn the light on, turn the light off, and close the garage door. It states that the service does not support an open door action. IFTTT also says Alexa’s native IFTTT integration was discontinued on October 31, 2023, and it points to Voice Monkey as a way to connect the two. Per Voice Monkey’s documentation, the chain is:
- In IFTTT, create an applet with the trigger Webhooks: Receive a web request and the myQ action that closes the garage door.
- In Voice Monkey, build a Flow whose first step is an HTTP request to that webhook URL.
- In the Alexa app, create a Routine that runs the Flow.
The result is an Alexa Routine that closes the door. It cannot open it.
A separate Alexa-compatible controller
Some add-on controllers bypass myQ and bring their own Alexa support. Meross states that its Smart Garage Door Opener (MSG100) works with Apple HomeKit, Siri, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and is controlled through the Meross app. Its MSG200HK page says you can open and close the door by voice through Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant. Meross asks US buyers to check its compatibility guide first, and says Chamberlain, LiftMaster and Craftsman openers are the likely ones to need an extra accessory, which it ships free once you send the color of your opener’s learn button. This is a separate device with its own app. It does not connect Alexa to your myQ account. For more options, see our smart garage door opener automation tips.
Tools that sign in to your myQ account, and ratgdo
Treat any unofficial tool that logs in to the myQ cloud as likely to stop working. home assistant removed its MyQ integration in release 2023.12, stating that it could not keep working around Chamberlain Group blocking third-party access. It pointed users to ratgdo, a Wi-Fi control board that wires to the opener’s terminals. ratgdo’s maker says it is not a cloud device and is not affiliated with Chamberlain Group. Its documentation lists ESPHome, HomeKit and MQTT firmware, and no Alexa support.
If it doesn’t work
- A partner link rejects your myQ sign-in. Chamberlain says partner linking needs an email and password. If you created your myQ account with Apple, Google or Amazon sign-in, sign out of the myQ app, tap Sign In, tap Forgot Password, and create a password for the same email. Then link with that email and password.
- You can’t set up Amazon Key. You need Prime, and you must be the primary myQ account holder or an invited co-owner. Check that your address is in a served area at amazon.com/key.
- An old Alexa applet stopped running, or an applet will not open the door. Alexa’s native IFTTT service ended on October 31, 2023, and the myQ service on IFTTT has no open action. Rebuild the applet with Webhooks and Voice Monkey, for closing only.
- An unofficial skill or integration stopped responding. Chamberlain blocks unapproved third-party integrations. Chamberlain’s pages offer no fix for this.

Related questions
Can Alexa open a myQ garage door?
Not through any integration Chamberlain lists. The IFTTT route can only close the door. To open the door by voice with Alexa, you would need a separate controller that has its own Alexa support.
Is there a myQ Alexa skill?
Chamberlain’s support article on myQ integrations does not list one. Chamberlain says it blocks unapproved third-party integrations, so a skill from another developer that signs in to your myQ account is not a supported way to connect myQ to Alexa.
Does Chamberlain myQ work with Alexa if I have a LiftMaster opener?
The answer is the same. Chamberlain Group publishes one list of supported myQ partners, and it does not include Alexa. To compare the assistants, see our Alexa, Google and Siri comparison.
Does myQ work with Google Home?
No. Chamberlain lists Google Home under Unsupported Integrations, a list it describes as platforms that are not supported or have been discontinued. 9to5Google reported in June 2023 that Chamberlain had discontinued Google Assistant linking for new myQ users.
Is Amazon Key the same as controlling myQ with Alexa?
No. Amazon Key In-Garage Delivery gives a delivery driver one-time access to your garage for a Prime order. You link it from Amazon Key in the myQ app menu. Chamberlain’s and Amazon’s pages for it do not describe voice control.
