Check whether a smart home brand works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, Samsung SmartThings and Matter before you buy. Every cell comes from the brand’s own support or compatibility pages, or the platform’s official partner pages. Where a brand doesn’t say, the cell reads “Not verified” rather than a guess.
How to read the table
- Yes: the brand officially supports the platform for its main product line.
- Partial: supported with a limit, such as some models only, a hub or add-on module, or Matter only. The note in the cell says which.
- No: the brand says it is unsupported, or the platform is missing from the brand’s own list of integrations.
- Not verified: we could not confirm it from an official source.

Before you buy: three checks
- Check the exact model, not just the brand. Many “Partial” cells mean only newer or Matter-labelled models work. Look for the Works with Alexa, Works with Google Home, Works with Apple Home or Matter logo on the box.
- Check for a required hub or module. Several brands only connect through their own bridge or a sold-separately module. Matter over Thread devices also need a Thread border router.
- Check what “works with” covers. An integration can be limited. For example, a camera may stream on one platform but not send doorbell announcements.
New to all of this? Start with the smart home starter plan, then see Matter over Thread vs Matter over Wi-Fi, our smart home hub comparison and the Alexa, Google and Siri comparison.
Brand notes and sources
- Ring. Ring staff (Jan 21, 2025): 'Alexa is the only officially supported smart home integration.' Google Home not supported per Ring staff. SmartThings partner directory still lists Ring camera/doorbell categories, which conflicts with Ring's statement, so SmartThings is left unknown. Our guide: read the full answer. Sources: Ring Community: How do I set up my ring doorbell to google home?; Ring Community: Thread/Matter support (staff reply, Jan 2025); Ring Community: Can Ring integrate with Google Home app; SmartThings partner page: Ring.
- Google Nest. Alexa skill covers Nest thermostats, cameras and doorbells, but announcements and two-way talk work only on some models, and the skill needs a Google Account. Google's thermostat comparison lists 'Matter-certified' and 'Works with Apple HomeKit'. No Matter or Apple support was found for Nest cameras or doorbells. The SmartThings partner page lists the Camera, Doorbell and Thermostat categories. Sources: Google: Control Google Nest products with Amazon Alexa; Google Store: Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) specs; SmartThings partner page: Nest.

Sources: Yale Assure Lock 2 Key-Free Touchscreen with Bluetooth.
- August. Product page: 'Works with Siri + HomeKit', 'Works with Amazon Alexa (Requires Wi-Fi)', 'Works with Google Assistant (Requires Wi-Fi)'. - Aqara. The Hub M3 page says 'Works with Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, & Alexa' and that it acts as a Matter bridge. Sources: Wyze: Third-Party Integrations; Wyze: Does Wyze Cam work with SmartThings or HomeKit?.
