Who Runs This Site

Nick Creighton — Founder & Editor

Nick has followed and worked with home automation technology for several years and runs a hands-on smart home setup where hubs, lighting, locks, cameras and sensors are installed and tested in daily use. His background is technical — software and automation — which shapes how this site covers protocols like Matter, Thread, Zigbee and Z-Wave: against the published specifications rather than marketing claims.

He is responsible for the editorial standards, testing methodology and corrections policy described below, and articles on this site are published under his byline.

How We Work

Rather than claim celebrity reviewers, we publish our methods so you can judge the work on its merits.

• Hands-on where possible. When we test a device directly, we say so and describe the setup used.
• Research-led otherwise. Where a guide is compiled from manufacturer specifications, standards documentation, and published third-party testing, we say that too — and cite the sources.
• Standards-first. Matter, Thread, Zigbee and Z-Wave behaviour is checked against the published specifications rather than marketing claims.
• Corrections welcome. If we get something wrong, tell us and we will fix it and note the change.
